The Prairie West Golf Course, nestled in Rader Park, is an 18-hole, full
service golf course. The 6,500-yard, par-71 course features greens perched atop windswept
hills and offers a true western Oklahoma test of golfing skills.
A fully equipped golf shop anchors the clubhouse. A Professional Golfers Association member is available for group or individual lessons. The course is complete with a driving range, one putting green, and a bunker for practice or warm-up. Those who enjoy the camaraderie unique to golf can find a home in the active mens, womens, and couples association. A junior program, available through the Weatherford Parks and Recreation program, is available to boys and girls ages 6 through 16. The young golfers receive excellent instruction from a PGA professional and play a tournament at the end of the three-day-per-week class. Beginning each year in March, and lasting through the summer, a wide array of tournaments and activities dot the schedule for every age and level golfer. In the spring, teams from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and Weatherford High School use the course to host their matches. The Weatherford Golf Course and clubhouse are open year-round, seven days a week. Drop by to inspect important course improvements including new cart paths, added yardage, and bigger greens. The Weatherford Golf Course is more fun and more challenging than ever! Jim Martinez, PGA A-1
