Southwestern Memorial Hospital was established in 1962. The 60 bed facility offers a wide range of services on an in-patient and out-patient basis.

General practitioners and a group of visiting specialists are on staff to provide care in medical, surgery, obstetrics, emergency, urology, ophthalmology, cardiology, arthritis, orthopedics, and ear, nose, and throat.

A physician is available 24 hours per day in the Emergency Room. Mammography, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Cardiac Cauterizations, dietary counseling , and a Lifeline system adds to the large list of services offered to Weatherford and the surrounding communities. Visiting specialists treat urological; ear, nose, and throat; ophthalmologic, craniological, orthopedic, and arthritis problems.

SMH staffs 104 employees and provides a favorable nurse-to-patient ratio to ensure constant quality care. Southwestern Memorial Hospital also operates the Thomas Medical Clinic in Thomas.

The hospital participates in the education of upcoming graduates of Southwestern Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma by allowing interns in its pharmacy and medical records office and with its general practitioners.
